Hydrology and hydraulics

In its design work on various development projects, Bockman Engineering Services has completed analyses of bridge waterways to prevent scour damage to the bridge structures, re-mapping of Federal Emergency Management Agency floodplains and flood profile analyses to ensure that upstream neighbors were not adversely affected.

Water Quality Basin
The Oaks
Subdivision – Greene County

Protection of public water supplies is an integral part of land development, particularly in Greene County, with both surface supplies and subsurface supplies in karst topography. Permanent water quality protection devices are can be designed to be aesthetically pleasing and functionally efficient.

Pictured here is the Oaks Subdivision, located in the Pearson Creek watershed near the Blackman Road Water Treatment facility operated by City Utilities of Springfield.

Hunt Branch Channel Modification
Millwood
Golf & Racquet Club – Springfield

Prevention of damage due to flooding is a critical item for development along streams. Millwood Subdivision was developed on the banks of Hunt Branch, and required a detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of cart bridges and a land bridge on a fairway crossing the stream.
